#Saints throwbacks for Sunday ⚜️ pic. com/5t1OrZvyC6— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) November 18, 2022 The Saints are clinging to thoughts of the playoffs, but it is by the thinnest of threads. Currently, the Saints rank 17th in the NFL in scoring offense which, considering the various injuries the team has suffered to key players, is impressive. They have the league's 15th-best rushing attack and the ninth-best passing attack. On the defensive end, the Saints have the NFL's 25th-ranked scoring defense. They are 22nd against the run but are sixth against the pass.
Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints Prediction, Preview, and Odds - 11-20-2022NFL Round Table Show The reeling Los Angeles Rams travel to New Orleans to take on the equally struggling Saints on Sunday afternoon. The Rams, the defending Super Bowl champions, have looked like a shadow of the team that ran through the NFL playoffs on their way to a title. Meanwhile, the Saints have struggled with a new coach and shuffling of quarterbacks that has left the team's once dominant offense looking like a middle of the pack team.
Key Injuries: Stafford (concussion) looks to be a go on Sunday. Kupp (IR) is out. C Allen (thumb), LB Travin Howard (hip) and DE A'Shawn Robinson (illness) all missed practice on Thursday, so their status is uncertain. Standing PatThe New Orleans Saints come into this matchup at just 3-7 on the season and in the midst of a two-game losing streak and losses in four of their last five games. Last week, the Saints' offense was shut out in three of the game's four quarters on their way to a 20-10 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh. The loss fueled speculation that starting quarterback Andy Dalton would be replaced by a now-healthy Jameis Winston.
Dalton did not help his cause with a 17-of-27 performance against the Steelers for 174 yards with one touchdown but two interceptions in the loss. Despite the team averaging just 11. 5 points per game in the last two losses, Saints head coach Dennis Allen has decided to stick with Dalton as his starting quarterback. "We're going to go with Andy. We discussed it as a staff. I got an opportunity to talk to both quarterbacks, and I feel like right now, Andy is the direction that we want to go, " Allen said Wednesday.
Expect a fairly sloppy game with two of the three worst teams in turnover differential this season but a game that will ultimately be won by the home team Saints. LA's playoff aspiration likely went up in smoke with the loss of Kupp while the Saints cling to their slim hopes. Take the Saints -3 Prediction: New Orleans -3 Full-Game Total Pick The Rams have scored under 20 points in four of the team's last five games. Their ability to score this week will certainly be hampered without Kupp in the lineup. The Saints, meanwhile have scored over 20 points just once in their last three games.

Not Ram ToughThe LA Rams limp into New Orleans in the midst of a three-game losing streak. Last week, the Rams fell to the Arizona Cardinals 27-17 at home. The loss was painful for several reasons, but the most painful was the loss of All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Rams are 18th in scoring defense thus far. They have been excellent against the run, ranking 4th in the NFL. Through the air, the Rams have been in the middle of the pack thus far, ranking 17th in the league. Finally, the Rams have struggled to protect the ball, with the Rams ranking 30th in the NFL in turnover differential.
Now, with Kupp out indefinitely, they will have to be even more inventive to create scores. The Rams are 29th in the NFL in scoring offense this season. They are dead last in the NFL in rushing this season, which can be attributed to a lack of continuity on the offensive line. They are 21st in passing offense, which will be hurt further with Kupp's absence.
With a depleted lineup last week, the Rams totaled just 256 yards of offense including just 60 yards rushing. "We've got to continue to have some resolve about ourselves, and then have some better execution, " Rams head coach Sean McVay said. "By no means am I saying that there's no better positions that (the players) could be put in, but I do want to see us be able to capitalize and make some of those critical plays when they're there to be had. " Leavin' LA and headin' to LA. ⚜️ pic. twitter. com/SC47llEVMt— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) November 17, 2022 With an offensive line that is a shell of the unit that helped win the team a title last year, the Rams have struggled both on the ground and through the air this season.

While that may not be a huge revelation, it is important to realize as the Rams remain involved in games with reasonable lines. Take away the Super Bowl title, and just going by the numbers, this game is a no-brainer. The Rams' offense is last in rushing and just 21st in passing. They have arguably the worst offensive line in football and they have the responsibility of protecting a quarterback that is coming off a concussion. Now, Stafford will be without his safety blanket in Kupp so he will have to quickly establish a working relationship with the rest of his wide receivers. The Saints have not played much better than the Rams but have put up far superior offensive numbers overall than LA has thus far this season. Dalton will get another crack at keeping his starting QB job and, despite his own failings, has produced more than the Rams' offense has this season.

Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain that will likely be sidelined for several weeks. The Rams were already down before Kupp's injury as they played the game without starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, out with a concussion. Stafford is expected to return this week but will be doing so with a depleted lineup. The Rams are now without Kupp and starting center Brian Allen has missed much of the week of practice with a thumb injury.
